Chinatown tonight is gonna be packed on the Gin Ling Way with plenty of quality events & people I respect. I like the idea of us all pushing forth the awesome & cause at the same time, crossing over and being LEGIT. First off our event is in the NO BS vein which is my heart and soul of SOLID music, TALENTED people and honestly…NO BULLSHIT. WHAT A CONCEPT. Seems crazy? It’s not. Simple and to the point. I don’t believe in over hyped nonsense I stick to quality and deliver. Sound good? Well then fucking show up. No RSVP. No Cover. What do you want me to wrap it in a pretty package and make it nice for you? Sorry. This dancefloor is for sweat not your padded problems.
Welcome Hunters will be hosting the opening reception of Project White T-Shirt at 8:00 pm TONIGHT til 11. Project White T-Shirt is curated by Triple-Major to support Designers Against AIDS. 31 designers were asked to transform and redefine the classic white t-shirt. Triple-Major will turn Welcome Hunters into a simulated laundromat with washing machines, clothes lines and laundry supplies.

So if you come by don’t be shy even if for a few minutes in eternity, reaching out for a hi five or hug & some type of connection will make you feel better anyway and give something back your presence, your awesome & commitment to the dancefloor. BIG HUGS SERIOUSLY & BEYOND.
This SUNDAY I’ll be setting up shop near the Fairfax & Melrose Flea Market in the back of BARRACUDA w/ more than a handful (two hands + a foot?) of vendors sharing their wares/vintage/handmade stuff . I will be selling some vintage gear & super marked down preview items from SaraTeaShop.com as well some of my own personal stuff!! Come say hi, listen to some tunes, kick back and hannnnnnnnnggggg.
Just got the headsup from Ghostly peeps telling me about their 10 year anniversary here in LA WHAT!? Ten years since Sam Valenti sat amongst 12″s piled to the ceiling in his Ann Arbor dorm room and said “This is gonna happen dammit”. Don’t quote me on that last part I totally made it up (not the 12″ piles tho). Sam has been nothing but nice to me times ten esp that time in Vegas where he introduced me to some kid @ a magazine (Fader?) very kindly and they completely ignored me because they hate girls who dj. Ok I may be making that part up too…but not the part where they looked right thru me like I was invisible paper mache: TRUE. C’mon bitches does it hurt to do a handshake?
Last time I saw DJ Frane we were at the Beat Swap Meet kickin back at the bar while I lied about how much I spent buying records (I said I spent less). This Wednesday he’ll be putting some some serious vinyl (yea I said it…VINYL) onto the magical turntables (he makes them magical) and taking us into a serious 5 hour eclectic journey where we’ve never been before (I guarantee this). It’ll be a land of fewer parenthesis (I swear) and more exclamation points. Here’s a couple

I was going thru my records this morning to get some sense of organization and satisfaction from some of these crates. Instead of just organized into “What I’m djing now” and “What I’m not djing” I’m trying to get a little more SPECIFIC. Pulled out quite a few Databass and looked up some Erik Travis…that’s how I found the above.
This is my friend Dimitri from Booty Bassment. He lives tween or with or somehow around both SD/SF I think due to him being a grownup and getting to do whatever the fuck he wants like eat cereal 24/7 if he damn well feels like it and also his brother lives up in SF along with some guy I really liked but he was a dumb dj and hurt my feelings (not Dimitri but just some dude).
