My top 4 picks from Nimli.com a “…An online marketplace devoted to providing natural, organic, and sustainable lifestyle products while embracing style and aesthetic.”  You can read more their mission + practices HERE .  With the designers shipping the products themselves one less step in the carbon footprint is eliminated.  Nimli is  “…striving to become completely carbon neutral”  Let’s take a peek at my favorites…

SHOW ME

Nothing like a blog posting to other blogs.

Last Friday while LA got it’s rain on and I laid in bed with a case of just being a woman my friend’s new store launched a Cheap Monday/WKND pop up shop in the Choose Chinatown space (in where else, Chinatown). choose00When I first moved to LA the cats at Welcome Hunters were the first people approached and said the words “Do you want a DJ?” I hesitated using this question in this town for many reasons a few being I didn’t come to LA to be just a DJ and get into some magical invisible and constantly rotating scene. I wanted a life with good food, movies & cuddling. Lately which I’ve been doing lots of (and yes, another added reason why Friday night probably didn’t see me).  Either way I saw their flyer for the night they were doing at the Mountain Bar a year or so ago and we ended up connecting and they liked what I played and for about 6 months straight I was djing their parties along with the cats from Lion’s Den.

Last weekend the friends n shopowners Lion’s Den & Welcome Hunters came together to host & create the Cheap Monday & WKND concept store for the next two seasons…

these pictures are from my favorite record store People’s Records in Detroit. this store has increased my bass and miami collection by i don’t know how many fold. many fold! they are so nice to me. once they called me and said they got some records in they knew i would like and they played them for me on the phone. everytime i’m there i walk out with 50-75 records. they hired someone to handpaint all of the 45 boxes. i love handpainted lettering…and the colors! perfect.
